Living Oasis - Who we are
Living Oasis Liverpool has emerged from the well-established Wesley Owen bookshop which was previously sited in the Roe Street elevation of St John's precinct. Our desire is to maintain and develop a locally led Christian Presence in the High Street, which connects the Christian Faith and our contemporary world.

The project was originally developed in partnership with Nationwide Christian Trust, who stepped in to save the Wesley Owen chain when it was forced to close its doors in 2010. Sadly, their commitment to so many stores proved unsustainable and in August 2011 they were forced into administration. The Liverpool store has always enjoyed a strong support base from local Christians and churches, and we are pleased to say that because of this we are able to develop plans for the shop to continue as an indepedant retailer.

There is a strong local management group, chaired by Baptist Regional Minister Revd. Phil Jump and comprises representatives from local churches, groups and organisations already working in the city centre, and local Christians with a business background. The project has
attracted widespread support from the Christian community, and while its
future is by no means yet certain, we remain optimistic for its success.
